As a lifelong animal lover, kDen. found himself drawn to the world of animal rescue and conservation. In 2013, after many years of retail management, kDen. enrolled in a veterinary assistant program at a local community college in CT. From there he began working for a community-based HQHV spay/neuter clinic in Springfield, MA in every role from recovery technician to clinic administration. He has spent the last several years working in animal welfare and high volume spay/neuter, as both a technician and clinic manager.

kDen. began working with Animal Balance as a volunteer in 2017 on the island of Kaua’i, Hawaii.  kDen. and his partner decided then and there to move to Kaua’i, as they recognized a need for a more permanent local resource for low-cost and community-based services on the island. He now lives on Kaua’i, with his partner, their two kids, and a motley crew of rescue pets.

In January of 2019, they opened The Spay Pod, where they hope to provide free and low-cost spay/neuter services for the community for years to come.

The mission of Animal Balance is to collaborate with communities in need to create sustainable animal management programs to prevent suffering and ignite social change.
