Cathy King DVM, MS, PhD is the CEO and founder of World Vets, an international veterinary aid organization based in Gig Harbor, Washington.  Dr King is a conservation medicine veterinarian with nearly 3 decades of clinical, field and research experience in the field of veterinary medicine.  She is a graduate of the Washington State University College of Veterinary Medicine, externed at the San Diego Zoo Center for Reproduction in Endangered Species and holds a Master's degree in Animal Science and PhD in Reproductive Physiology.  In 2013, she received the Meritorious Service Award from the American Veterinary Medical Association and in 2016 was awarded an honorary doctorate from Western University of Health Sciences, College of Veterinary Medicine.

With programs in over 45 countries on six continents, World Vets works to bring veterinary services to underserved areas of the world by providing direct veterinary care to animals, disaster response services for major international disasters, veterinary training and education programs and long-term capacity building that improves the lives of animals, people and the communities in which they live. Programs benefit a wide variety of animals on a global scale, including companion animals, working horses, livestock, wildlife and street dogs. In the Pacific Northwest, World Vets work focuses on improving the health and welfare of marine wildlife by responding to sick and injured marine mammals, and working to advance scientific knowledge and understanding to help protect and conserve the region's critical marine ecosystems.  In 2014, World Vets was selected as the Top Animal and Wildlife Charity Worldwide in an award sponsored by the United Nations Foundation.
